Reporters Without Borders - also known as Reporters sans frontières (RSF) -is a non-profit organisation that promotes freedom of information and defends journalists worldwide.
Founded in France in 1985, RSF has offices in ten cities, including Brussels, Washington, Tunis and Rio de Janeiro, as well as a network of correspondents spanning 130 countries. This international reach gives RSF the ability to mobilize support, challenge governments and wield influence both on the ground and within national and international institutions where legislation regarding media and Internet standards is drafted. RSF has consultative status with the United Nations, UNESCO, the Council of Europe and the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF).
RSF’s office in Brussels coordinates the organisation’s advocacy activities with the EU institutions.
